Salty Soldbuch issued to battle of Kursk survivor Obergefreiter Josef Schmid

Hi guys,

Just here to share my recent salty find, a heavily worn "Soldbuch" issued to Obergefreiter Josef Schmid born in 1921 in Vienna.

Josefs military career started in March 1942 when he joined a training battalion of the 482nd Infantry Regiment (part of the 262nd Infantry Division). In July 1943, the 262nd Infantry Division participated in the Battle of Kursk.

He was wounded twice, for the first time during the battle of Kursk in July 1943 and after that in November 1944.

His "Soldbuch" accompanied him throughout the war.
