Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
We have sadly lost Peter Spoden at age 100, the last of the golden generation are now finally passing.

It's been three weeks since 2021 ended. It is time to remember all those who have left us during this year.
And to wish health to those who are still among us.
Sorry if there is any wrong information and happy new year to all of you friends.
Those who left:
Heer:
von Hasse, Karl Günther 15.12.1917 (103) R.I.P. 09.05.2021
Zoppoth, Gerhard 02.06.1923 (98) R.I.P. 13.09.2021
Those who still resist
Luftwaffe:
Broch, Hugo 06.01.1922 (100)
Trummer, Johann 23.10.1920 (101)
Heer:
Rafoth, Heinz 06.01.1923 (99)
Wieselhuber, Helmut 28.11.1922 (99)
I find out in Traces of War that Jakob Kuchar died on 01.01.2020.
I apologize for any errors in the list. Both lists are based on data that I have seen published on the internet.
If these data are correct, there are only four winners of the Knight's Cross left alive....
Regards
Santi
We have lost Hans Trummer at 101, the list grows ever smaller
all of the WW2vets are nearing 100, that are still left on both sides!
