it certainly looks correct.

I'd prefer to see some more images (any chance..? natural light if possible...)
...not sure either way on this one at the moment...have handled many period examples...and reproduction / fantasy pieces too...this one has some good elements...and some I might not feel so comfortable with...

The center line/arrow would be to orient the stamp properly.
I have doubts on it's originality. For one, the image looks
reversed - it's engraved Into the brass. If ink were to be
used on this, the background would be printed.
This style of disc is normally seen on
embossing presses.
This is why I've shied away from this type of thing
for 40 years.........

Could this be a wax seal rather than an ink stamp?

Ive asked for more photos, hopefully they arrive soon!
Its definitely designed as a wax stamp. and after checking my other stampers, the eagles head is pointing the right way. Again this doesn't prove its real, but sometimes these things are missed on fakes. the lettering is quite clear s well which is good, but i think the pictures will really help tell the full story!!

Personally, I like it. The detailing is excellent as is the construction. It would seem odd to put the considerable time and expense into making it for an item that is not all that highly valuable. I can see no reason to doubt this item's authenticity.
