Probably Bundeswehr (or BGS) armed with the post war FN FAL.

Yep just beat me to it Steve.
Bundeswehr so definately postwar. Early in their history the British L1A1 7.62mm SLR was used at the same time as the FN FAL (the L1A1 is the British version of the FAL) but I agree with Steve that these are FN FAL. The most obvious feature in less than clear photographs is that the FAL appears to have a rather long flash hider whereas that on the L1A1 appears much shorter.
Camouflage is Splinter pattern (Splittertarn) which can look like a WWII pattern but isn't and the steel tips on the front of the boot soles are evident.
Nothing in the picture suggest any specialist role, just standard BW infantry.
