"Weihnachten 1942" humorous poster

Hi guys!

Just wanted to show my recent acquisition, a special "Christmas 1942 in Lapland" poster published by the Lappland-Kurier propaganda newspaper for German troops in northern Finland. The detailed drawing depicts a comical view of a typical winter day for soldiers stationed in the area, while the other side of the paper carries the appropriate season's greetings. The dimensions are 34 x 28 cm.

I had first seen this piece of artwork at a museum exhibition many years ago and found the details fascinating. Happy to add one of the original prints to my modest personal collection!

I particularly like the two soldiers bumping into each other (towards the upper right) because of the distraction.

Very cool, I've always enjoyed this style of illustration - called "wimmelbilderbuch" when in book form. A very nice item to add some personality/character to a collection
