WW2 German Death Card of Georg Rundel.

Georg was born on April 20th 1921 in Einhart. During the war he served as the rank of Gefreiter. He was fighting near podosinovka when he was killed in action on December 11th 1942. I may be wrong but based on the date and location I believe he was participating in Operation Mars. An interesting thing about this card is that there is a photo of his actual grave on the reverse.

Georg Rundel has probably been transferred as an unknown soldier to the military cemetery Duchowschtschina. His original burial place is noted on the rear of the casualty card as the 78. Infanterie Division Cemetery in Nikolskoje) -

His cause of death is noted as Gefallen: Artillerie Geschoß Kopf (Killed in action: Artillery shell head). This is most likely a shell fragment/piece of shrapnel.
