WW2 German Death Card of Josef Evers

This card is interesting because his Photograph is actually attached to the card.

Josef was born on October 12th 1906. The card states he was drafted in April of 1940. It says he died in a reserve hospital on November 18th 1942. It also seems to state that he was killed soon after taking a trip home and that when he left he took “death” with him.

That photo is really interesting. It looks like the sort you see in the Soldbuch or the Wehrpass (if the Wehrpass holder was already in the military).

It is a sad one for sure. He was probably looking forward to visiting home and I wonder how long he had to visit family before he became ill.
