As I was tidying some books earlier today, I came upon this little grouping that I had completely forgotten about. It was within a plastic envelope hidden in between my many tomes.
It's of an officer of the Third Reich Customs and contains not only a number of award certificates (Customs service Cross / KvK2 with swords) but also some of his family history. There are 2 ancestral records for him and his wife, showing, as required by the Nazis, his family lineage through many generations.
There is also a family log booklet which details their 3 children. The booklet has pages for up to 12 children so I imagine this was used as evidence to support any "Mothers Cross" being awarded.
Finally, there is a post war document, dated 1953 which shows that this chap continued in his employment after the end of the Third Reich.
Cheers
Jamie
