    Hello all,

Here are a nice matching pair of Australian Army (Pattern 37 I believe) Mess Tins I have found recently.

Very well made items by S.M.P in June 1968. The small tin measures approx. 150x110x35mm -weighs 200g. The Large tin approx. 165x125x38mm - 225g

I actually found it quite difficult to source a nice matching set from the '60s.

    Cheers

Believe it or not I am assured some of these are still in the system, along with cups-canteen-steel and 60's dated plastic water bottles. I think the aluminium knife-fork-spoon sets are all out now.

Some of my mess & water kit.
The dixies are the same date and manufacturer as yours christek.
The cup is Stokes Melb 1969
    KFS set matching 1968
    Never used water bladder 1972.
Never used hutchi cover undated (still has fabric in the eyelet hole).
    Bottles both 1965.
One cover Cantas 1968, the other too hard to read.

Interesting that our Aussie bottles were made in United Arab Emirates going by the NSN code.

Not rude at all mate. Perhaps mods could change the post name to Australian Canteens and Mess Kits?

How do you know it was US made? Is it the colour?

    Cheers
