Help with a canteen cover

M1956 Cover 1965 if I remember contract dates right, 5340-00-753-5580 Keeper, Belt first used in 1954 on the trials M1956 they only became known as ALICE clips in the late 1970s.
They were used on the M1956, M1967, LINCLOE trials, ALICE, IIFS, & Marine Modular Load Bearing Vest in 1996
