Thanks Robin.
I don't think I have ever seen one sell for that much either?
Cheers, Ade.

Robin,
I've had one of your books sence it was first published.
Now that you're famous, maybe I need to seed it back to be autographed.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
I've got the guide to TR collecting book, got this at Foyle's late 80s

I remember my Grandad (ex - WW2 REME) buying your books for me as a kid, (I'm a bit over 18 now!) Thanks Robin, you actually inspired me to collect more.
"Per Ardua"
I've got Medals and Decorations of the Third Reich and Himmler's Black order 1923 to 1945, oh and that out of date little one on how to spot the fakes
The good thing about being a 'mouldy old ba$tard' from the 'Golden Age' is this .................. you eventually learn it's true that, in the time-honoured phrase, 'everything comes to he who waits' (providing he keeps on searching !)
When my TRM book came out in 1987, all I could offer were pathetic line drawings of these almost mythical campaign shields.
Well, they all did eventually come to me .............. after a fair bit of hunting for 30-odd years.
The Lappland, Lorient and Dunkirk are originals. Lappland official, the others unofficial.
The Memel is a total fantasy ........... but it has clearly been based on the self-penned amateur drawing in my old book ! It's been stamped into lead, in the manner of a trial matrix.
I found it on the 'net a few years ago and have never seen another. It seems to have been a 'one off'.
So. Things have come full circle !
The full set ...................
Robin,
Very nice collection/selection and I can also attest to your books as being some of the first I bought many years ago and they still are an integral part of my reference library..
Best regards, stay safe
