Hey Gents..here is an early maker I had posted a long time ago..but now with better photos. The overall condition is worn..but not in excess of walking away from it. This comes from the collection of the McSaar list author Mike McAlvanah. I know by first thoughts the hanger will appear new..which is not the case..but has been treated with "Neets foot oil " a natural leather preservative which gives that darker appearance.
This scabbard was once black anodized and is all gone except for a light base color of what was once the original color. The hanger is unmarked. It may not be Mint..but it is still a looker..an " Old Cougar " type still with some class. Regards Larry
In the photos below where the supporting loop just below the lower scabbard fitting has " Wear " spot where the leather had rubbed up against the scabbard.

Typical caramel colored Sa rune that Merten used, nice used NSKK dagger with lovely hanger, Thx for showing Larry!
Here's a picture of a Merten SA I owned, this is the Original SA scabbard anodation color.
Grip color and Sa rune are identical.
It also shows it had a vertical hanger sometime in his life, clear to see that marked dark spot.
Cheers Ger
