Definitely a soviet shell casing.
IF found by a metal detector by yourself it’s probably real.
You will have no problems posting items featuring the Hakenkreuz here. They are an important aspect of their historical context. There is no sense in shying away from the past. While some countries like Germany forbid public displays of the swastika for obvious reasons, you will find no such legal blockades here. No worries there.
As for the item itself, trench art will always be difficult to authenticate. The fact that it was handmade rather than factory-produced means no two pieces will be the same. Many shell cases were decorated in such a way postwar, and were fashioned into everything from practical items such as candlesticks and flowerpots, to more novelty items like beer mugs and shot glasses. Given that yours was a detector find - and so presumably a battlefield find - the authenticity of the piece would be without question.
A nice display piece!
