    I have no knowledge of the subject, but it certainly looks great to me and it looks fantastic. Andy, it looks like you've been happy to get it.

    Thanks Michael. Definitely an inscription relating to it being a souvenired German Helmet. As Steve says, perhaps ‘Taken off a Jerry”.

    I’ll try to take some better photos in differing light levels.

    I’d say the top word was ‘Helmet’.
    Can’t imagine what the bits in between that and Jerry are though.

    Thanks for taking another look. Might have to run a magnifying glass over it in slightly lower light levels. It’s actually very hard to see unless the light hits it at exactly the right spot.
