    I didnt know Irish Vickers helmets existed.
    I havent seen them mentioned in any books.

    Not my area of collecting, however my understanding is the most prominent early mentions are from Ludwig Baer who devotes 2 pages to them in his book The History of the German Steel helmet - 1916 - 1914, and first published in 1985. There he writes “The shell of the helmet painted dark green, was forged in England by Vickers Ltd. In the inside rim at the centre of the rear was a die stamped inscription, “V Ltd H 8996”. Each helmet had its own serial number and the fittings of the helmet were completed in Dublin. The leather headband, which was stamped “T Smith a Son, Dublin 1927 S,” pp.366-367.

    It’s said that there were 10,021 manufactured for the Irish Free State Army.
