    Thank you for the kind words BlackCat! I think hitting a convex shape with a potentially blunt pick would add to the difficulty too. I think it is actually named? Nothing on/under the liner pads, or on the liner band, but in the rear skirt? But very hard to discern more than 100 years later.

    Yes Andy, I had also noticed the inscription, but I'm also struggling to make any sense of it.

    Thanks BlackCat! Yes, an interesting photo. There’s all sorts of stuff in there including what looks like the handles for stretchers far right.
