Mimikri M17 helmet with scrapnel damage.

Hi everyone,

I've been some time of the grit but I'm back with a recent purchase. Bought this one on auction. A M17 ET64. It was used, I think, as a hanging plantpot. The interior is therefore rusty in comparison with the intact exterior. There are some holes in the front and back rim for a hanging cord of some sort. The pads are still there.

Interresting is that the lft side was apparently hit by force by something that didn't penetrate. Could be a 9 mm or as I think a scrapnell ball. I put in a scrapnell ball I found on the Somme battlefield and it fits. The force of the impact destroyed the horn (venthole).
