What is it about the piece that makes you think it is a fake ?
It is customary to point out the red flags rather than just saying "fake".
It looks good to me. Liner looks period, metal trim is period. Mortar board is correct.
I see nothing to indicate that it is a fake.
It is my opinion that it is a hard to find ersatz war time Ulan Tschapka.

The liners is Tsapkas ALWAYS have square tipped fingers. The example shown is typical of a 1960/70s English made replica.

I have five Model 1915 Tsapkas sitting in my office. ALL of them have square fingers.
Also liner is not fitted correctly. There are a few other points on this piece that are questionable.
