A good condition example. As you say, will be the 1924 version if the blade hilt and cross guard are a one piece forging. Not uncommon but an interesting bayonet.

That is my first time seeing one like that. That blade is very unique, Almost quatrefoil'ish. But I bet very effective for its intended use.

Thank you for the confirmation. First one I have had as I do not collect WWI but came as a pair with a 42 date K98 bayonet, not matching and nothing special.

I imagine the Belgium army were still using these when the German's invaded in 1940. So could be viewed as early WW2.

This is the 1916/1924 bayonet for the Mod 1889 Belgian Mauser rifle. I think it is Mod 1924 because the quillon was removed. In use at the beginning of WW2 with reserve troops. The regular army was then using the Mod 1935 and 1936 Mauser (rather difficult to find nowerdays).
