I recently pick up a German sword which I think is a Cavalry Officer's basket hilt sword M-52.
Does anyone know the meaning of this inscription?

Pierre N, im sure this is the one i was out bid on !...e-bay ?.... (i collect Train Battalion items) ....nice sword, indeed cavalry/mounted pattern, belongs to Senior NCO/Officer 18th Train Battalion (Hessian Supply Battalion), the ' Grossherzogliches-Hessisches Train-Batallion No 18' garrisoned at Darmstadt, and part of the XYIII Armee Korps.
It can be that one because I got it in a trade. I am curious, the oneon eBay that you got out bid on went for how much?
and thank for the information ! i appreciate
Pierre
Pierre N, apologies...it is the same style as the one previosly sold on e bay, it went for approx $280, and i remember that it was regimently marked on the guard as well as the blade. Nice sword.....
Belle épée!! Great looking sword! Congrats!
