I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Next step to improve the knife-bayonet was made by the germans in 1915.
The 1915 Move-Werke combines the standard 84/98 pommel with flashguard and a 71/84 blade with a steel scabbard. Seems they only appear with a 1915 date. None before or after, right in the heart of the shortage.
Move-Werke are not really a transition piece, more a side shoot. the method of construction of hilt is completely different to the other 84/98 models, a method that took a lot more work and more hand fitting as the grips needed to have additional machining.
Would be very interesting to know if the number hidden in the lock-button shown in the pic below is a lot number, fell free to post additional information and pics.
