Interesting German Knife

Article about: I am not sure if this is WW1, however it is older. The handles are real horn, the blade is makers marked, I took the best photos I could of it. Please let me know your thoughts. Dean O Canad

    A very nice wilh weltersbach "Saufanger" hunting knife, used closed for general purpose, then open for finishing off whatever they where hunting.

    Im surprised Weltersbach is still in business as during the period they also made hunting, sports pocket and garden knives...and for the Third Reich SA daggers. Thanks for sharing in the update..on this company`s existence . Regards Larry

    Does anyone have any idea of the age? And, where these ever used by the German Army?

    for the handguard(improved models) more of 1930´s (1940 to 19...)

    this is earlier (no handguard) dated 1930 or -

    hunting knife(not army)
    use it folding to eat or various use and deploy for greater blade length if need to finish off an animal.
