My Kaiserreich ribbon bar collection

I finally got it...

After several years of waiting, a double ribbon bar with the ribbons of the EK2 1914 and the Golden (or Silver) Medal of Merit with Swords from the former Princedom of Reuss (Fürstentum Reuss).

It has a rather worn look; the swords have the perfect patina and the felt on the back is badly damaged. It’s a very nice original piece to see so used.

So now one sunny Sunday morning in March or April I will take a new family photo with all my double imperial ribbon bars

Just as I had promised. I used Sunday morning to empty part of the display case and take some photos with all the double imperial ribbon bars.

Santi, a great effort! It looks like a candy store. There is no explaining the exhilaration of finding that long lost piece then suddenly feeling the loss of that anticipation you've grown accustomed to feeling. A double edged sword. Onto the next treasure hunt.

This is the ribbon bar of a man decorated during the First World War by the Kingdom of Prussia.

Ribbon bars with decorations from the House of Hohenzollern, the Prussian royal dinasty and Imperial German too, are extremely rare: this one is also of an absolutely exceptional size, a true rarity today.

In this image below we can compare it with all the ribbon bars with the same decoration from the House of Hohenzollern in my collection: At this moment I think I have all the sizes and folding styles of the ribbons...
