    Standard Franco-Prussian war commemorative medal mounted on a bar with claps for the wearer to show they were involved in the siege of Strasbourg and Belfort. The siege of Strasbourg was a big victory for the German confederation. While the French were able to hold back that same Baden-Prussian-Württemberg army during the siege of Belfort, which would remain in French control even though they ceded the rest of Alsace to the newly formed German Empire

    I like how the medal/ribbon is mounted and that it has some wear to it. Now I just need to get the two French commemorative medals and maybe one day an 1870 Iron Cross to go with this one. Thank you for reading!

    Nice fire gilded clasps. These came in several variations. Does the medal have the rim inscription? Looks like a Spangenstueck to me.
