Re: WWI Iron Cross - Original or Fake?
Hard to tell from the photos. It looks a little TOO clean
however that might be caused by the glare from the flash.
A good, clear "close-up" of the cross without the flash would
really be helpfull.

Re: WWI Iron Cross - Original or Fake?
Hi, It looks o.k. to me. Any maker mark on the ring? Nice Austro-Hungarian ribbon by the way

Re: WWI Iron Cross - Original or Fake?
Hi Matguns, second set of photos fine, doesnt look as new now !....it looks fine to me, nice trifold Austrian style ribbon mount, look at the suspesion ring with a magnifying glass & see if there are any marks stamped in it, a letter or two or symbol, as most where marked. Constructed of 3 parts, back/rear frames & centre iron core (sometimes they rattle!), look for the seam along the entire edge.

Re: WWI Iron Cross - Original or Fake?
Hi, the marks a partial maker maker letter. Could be a O or a G

It's not a "G". Godet did not use that style of core in their crosses.
