It looks like a mess kit, but whose?
Bought at an antique fair in Leeds UK a couple of weeks ago, the vendor thought it some kind of army mess kit, my initial thought was Indian Tiffin box. Upon further inspection, it has too few sections and signs of heating on the rounded base. Closest images I find are of Imperial Russian mess kits, but it is brass, lidded and has an insert....
Possibly modern camping equipment ?

Victorian/Edwardian era perhaps, but in hand made brass with the tinning done by hot dipping and pouring with molten metal, I very much doubt it's modern. Possibly ethnic, but after seeing old Russian kit I thought it worth posting here.
My first thoughts were perhaps Russian as well, but have not encountered anything like it before that was Imperial German.
