This mortar ammo box for the 5cm Granatwerfer 36, was found recently in the Kurland pocket of Latvia, along with other abandoned German field equipment. It's in pretty good condition for the age, the only drawback being that one of the handles is bent slightly so that it won't open now. There is patchy surface rust on it and some holes in spots, but other than that it's in solid shape. The paint held up really nice!

The 5cm Granatwerfer 1936 was old and outdated by the time of Kurland, but rear action units used them, and anyone who still had access to them. In late 1944, the Germans used what they had, not what they wanted. Fun fact, the mortar tube for this model weighed 31 lbs! Imagine lugging that thing around all day.
