Default Black Kochgeschirr M1910 marked AWG38

Here is a nice M1910 Kochgeschirr marked A.W.G. 38 I won in a Ebay auction. I suppose 38 stands for 1938 and A.W.G. is the manufacturer. Someone carved his name in it on several places: H. Kohr. According to the seller this was used by 'Elite' troops, probably meaning SS. I suppose because it is black. Is this a correct or possible assumption?

Looks nice. I've heard that Black could be paramilitary (SS,SA,etc.) but I'm no pro on this.

Giancarlo (Mulan on GHW) should probably know. He has a great new book out on these (see post #13)

"It is a M10 pattern most probably produced between 1933/34 and 1940 for a political or paramilitary organisation. Some can be seen on german soldiers during WWII. A lot of men from the RAD kept some of their Equipment when they joined the army..."

Not my expertise but sounds like it. Maybe even other groups...

    Others will need to confirm
