    I have just bought this bakelit Detonatorbox, it is from 1939, do anyone have more info, what type of detonators where kept in the box, manufactorer etc. Alle info are welcome

    Inside the canister: 1939 HS S 40
    Inside the lid: HS S (perhaps manufactorer)
    At the bottom: Zünderbüchse 1

    This appears to be a bakelite ( or 'Kunstoffe' ) container for the nose (adjustable) fuze of a German anti-aircraft or HE shell. Various sizes and types can be found ( they aren't rare ). I have two in my collection which protect 88mm fuzes of types AZ23 and EZ-ZS/30.

    The maker HS is Electrotechnische Metallwarenfabrik Storch und Stehmann GmbH in Thuringia. Zunderbusche 1 denoting the lid of the artillery fuze container, the bottom part is marked 2 (I.e. 2 pieces to make up each fuze container.
