one more thing from me.......... on this conteiner year (on coverlid) is 1940 and at the bottom is 1941 and number 59 (the seal) ...... I was wondering if the seal is genuine and why is so ?

This M38 Gasmask container has been produced in 1940. In my opinion the year 1941 has been stamped after the Gasmask was controlled. The number 59 might be the number of the controller. I've seen this configuration in the past.
I dont really understand what you mean with the term "seal"...
The only seal i know in Gasmasken is the rubber seal sometimes found in the container's lid after its reinforcement was adopted in 1941...which is not present in your example...
