OK for the Minnesota climate but no good for our 40degC Aussie heat wave summers .... not a lot of "Geberging" goes on here

I looked them over pretty good and there are no stamps or markings on wood or straps.

Curious, were these type of snow-shoes planned only to be used in Italy?
And maybe Balkan mountains?
I have not seen pictures of this rope-type being used in Arctic, Finnish Lappland. Those were made of metal tubes, which were brought and later they learned to use only skis in Lapland.
Another metaldetector guy found these from Norway.

I have the same wooden set with DRGM number inked on the inside of the wood hoop. I will post photos later.

Hi there!
Were these snowshoes produced for the military?
Or were they, just like the skis, non-military products that were collected (and sometimes stamped/painted) and used by the Gebirgsjäger?
Cheers!
