I may be wrong but i think its a gas mask/Hood for head wounds
It's an anti-gas hood. I believe these were made for civilian use, although I couldn't specify in what capacity.
I've only ever seen one other for sale. German civilian respirators do seem to be far more rare than their military counterparts.

Nice find! Going by the colour and material I think Krads idea of a Gassschutzhaube, head wound gas mask is accurate. Such items as this were made as a result of the 1939 order HM41, Nr638 and although produced widely it appears such items disappeared as the threat of the use of gas appeared less likely. A pity the acceptance stamp is blurred but I think this item looks original, made of similar impregnated material as the gasplane.
For Gasschutzhaube see here: 3 Gasschutzhauber
No idea what it is (and I assume the cloth-headgear-section is the wrong place for the question).
I saw one like this in an auction last Thursday.....there were a number of weird and wonderful masks and hoods to look at......great opportunity to see stuff I’d not seen before.....
I had a good look around this one/one like it........
As with most auctions, a few things weren’t what they thought they were.....
Might well be LSW related then.
