German gasmask with label
G'day all,
just thought I show a couple of pics of my gasmask for your comments, It has the spare lenses and the cleaning cloth in the bottom of the cannister. On the inside lid there is a label which clearly has the word "Paris" do you think the bloke who owned this was stationed there or could it be there for some other reason? Any comments are welcome. Thanks, Dave.

Re: German gasmask with label
I had wondered that myself Phill, I hope Danny is right though! What is the 435 on the outside of the can? I know very little about these things, I bought this one originally because it was complete and I wanted one to finish off my mannequin but I really should find out a bit more about it. Thanks boys.

Re: German gasmask with label
Thinks the owner may have been stationed in Paris. I hope that is the case, the thing becomes a lot more interesting I reckon if that is true.

Re: German gasmask with label
Could possibly be a Feldpost number?
Thanks

Re: German gasmask with label
Hello,
This gasmask set belonged to an Unteroffizier. The number on the label is a Luftwaffe Feldpostnummer.
435 means that this gasmask set was the 435th issued within the unit.
Thanks
