Default Jerrycan from Jersey...... help needed

Yesterday i posted some pictures of a lovely jerrycan that i had just picked up. When I had a look today what I thought was the previous owners name on the reverse I could not read it. It looks like its Russian or similar, we had members of the Russian Army of Liberation stationed here fighting on the side of the German's. I wonder if it is in fact Russian writing..... can someone out there help and see what they make of the writing.

I agree, "werkstatt", now that I been told it it, becomes easier to see.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hello,
For our members who don't speak or read german, Werkstatt means Workshop...
    Thanks
