Keep your eyes open Heeresunterkunft, they are not hard to find. Nice to have at least one, although it can get addictive sometimes!

My latest find. Not many of these are known of maybe 5 or 6. This is the only one I have ever heard of in Canada. It is a 10 litre re configured 20 litre Kanister.

    Hi,

My newest addition: fhm (Brose und Co, Coburg), 1944, lot 27.

Has someone met with this ‘sign’ at the handle? Imo it is postwar, maybe used by fire brigade after the war... but was not overpainted... any ideas?

The red tag denoted the can contained petrol with an octane rating of 80. These were British made I think, the Tags system dates from 1943.

British made tag, so it was placed on the can after the war. Okay, thanks for the info!

I doubt you can say 100% when the tag was added because these kanisters were used by both sides during the war. But a nice addition to see.
