Long kochgeschirr with mark "Metal stamp Riga".
First time I see this stamp ! What mean it ? This kochgeschirr was made in occupaited Riga ? Kochgeschirr is NSDAP, SA, HJ type, but not army type.
What is it ?

where are you ?
Hello.
I wouldn't necessarily call this a " political " mess kit, this kind of lid handle being used on german Great War mess kits starting in 1917.
It might just be a Riga made mess kit for the german occupation troops in 1917, and maybe it was easier for the local factories to make them in aluminium instead of the enameled steel used by the germans, or maybe it is a production in the german style for the latvian market of the 20's or the 30's ?
Very interesting version !
Unfortunately as I know very little about latvian military equipment and its markings it might just be nothing more than that : an hypothesis.
On Espenlaub Milatria's webshop a similar mess kit was listed as "Latvian SS volunteers mess tin".
I have seen that. SS insignia scrawled by owner
It appears to be in the Imperial German pattern but has been made under licence in Riga. I don't see any links to NSDAP or WW2.
there are no production markings in the period 1941-45.
