    Not a good sign.
    Ralph.
No, 1/4 turn is correct! Whether coarse thread or fine, parallel or tapered, it should be a 4 start thread.
Post war were single start threads so took a full revolution to engage.
These are the beige mottled ones often passed off as wartime made.

    Correct

All original ones should close in a quarter turn !!!!

So it is a good sign !! post war ones open in more turns...

Do you have another item made of bakelite ??

Yep, these are faked (made of plastic for re-enactors maybe.. I don't know), but they are also made post-war for BGS (BundesGrenzSchutz), so these are not fakes but post war ones (and the post war ones close in a few turns)

    All fake ones are plastic......

As stated all original containers open and close with a quarter turn because of a multiple start thread. There are lots of plastics ones out there the same color as the one shown but the threads are different. I haven't seen a plastic one yet with correct threads but maybe that's next!
