L2 is "Lederzeugfabriken" ( Leather goods factories )

271/36 is the code for leather goods maker Franz Josef Rothe in Braunschweig near Hannover. (36 is the date) but I couldn't find 1271/36 ... ?
The owner, Otto Pressel was a builder ( baumeister ) who lived in Kaufbeuren a small town in Bavaria.

    Danmark ! Thanks !

But Why such a strange mapcase ? Is it a party (NSDAP) or some other organization?

A good question - what we know is that from 1934, the Reichszeugmeisterei ( based in Munich ) was given responsibility for the coordination of all procurement of uniforms and equipment projects for the NSDAP. The RZM office defined design, manufacturing and quality standards. A RZM license could be bought and by the middle of 1934 there were about 15,000 licensed manufacturing factories and craft producers, 1,500 tradesmen, 75,000 master tailors and 15,000 so-called "brown shops" in the German Reich. ( from Wikipedia )

Maybe Herr Pressel was a party member ( as well as a master tradesman ) who was able to buy this pre-war mapcase for his work??? ( plans, schematics etc... )

    Who can really know?
