MG34/42 period or Yugo ammo box ?

Am I looking at a M53 yugo ammo box here or a WW2 period one ? Seems to have a stamp VV52.

Looks like Yugo green paint to me, but just might be the light. There should be a marking on the lid, between the two hinges for the handle. If it's a 'BK' in a little box, it's Yugoslavian.
