Hi Dean, it is fine. Actually used to mark areas contaminated by Gas too, which I think was the original intended use.

Those small yellow flags were meant to mark or create safe corridors in contaminated areas for troops to be able to move or attack. They were regulation items for the "Z" teams. These flags are described and shown in the Heeres Druck Vorschrift (H.Dv.) 395/11a from the 25th of July 1941. Their name in german means "gas detection flags"...so not meant for mines...
