Looks good to me, used by military. Condition looks ok. Markings all look as they should.

It could be me, but isn't this a P38 holster with eagle L for police use?
Jonathan.
I'd say it was a P38 holster, too. Note the lack of a compartment inside the lid for the disassembly tool.
Plus, were P08 holsters still being produced in 1943? Considering that was the last year of the pistol's production, and by then none of them were being produced for domestic use.

It is a holster for a P38. I am not sold that this is an original holster. I have not seen that maker code before and looks like it was individually stamped. 1943 was the last year of mainstream production of the hard shell holsters. Soft shell after 1943. The pics do not show a P38 stamp on the back. It is my understanding that they all were marked P38, especially the hard shells.

To be honest, i don’t like it very much... looks like all the stamps were put on later......
And indeed, this is a P38 holster, not a P08 one.....
I would like to see the rest of the back.... now all we see is the marked part.....
Tom
Jonathon you are right, I did not look close enough to see the L. There is also no holder for a Luger tool, so correct not a Luger holster. The P38 marking would be stamped on the part of holster not shown.
John
Thank you for the additional pics. I am sticking with my original opinion of it being a reproduction. The stitching is also not up to standards. Sorry.
John
it's fake.
