I owned this many years ago, and got it back today, nice to have an old friend return to the fold

I'm not exactly sure of the type of road wheel that the wheel actually comes from, but I am guessing an Sd. Kfz. 251.
The markiings on the rubber portion are '575/48 - 510' and '3(?)3 567' and I think the 12 - 43 would be when it was
made, as in December of 1943. (and the 'Dunlop' stamp too).

Nice to see that a fair portion of the original cammo paint still remains. It looks like it took a bit of a whack at some stage
    in its life.

If anyone has any other ideas about the vehicle type, I am more than happy to be corrected.

    Cheers

    Bob

It could also be from the 3 ton tractor Sd.Kfz.11.

Yeah possibly... would the designation on the tyre be the same for both vehicles ?? (575/48 - 510)

Here’s my old find from KG Peiper, traded to my by a farmer near La Gleize back in the 1990s. He’d been using it as a dung barrow! Hence the extra holes in the wheel I guess. Made by Deka, most of the numbers are missing as the rubber is chewed out.

Yes designation would be the same and the wheels were interchangeable. Some times you find the size is 512 instead of 510.

I see the tyre is a Dunlop, made by the German subsidiary of the British multinational company.

I love the irony of the same company making tyres for Allied AND German vehicles .....
