Hi everyone!
I recently acquired an MG34/42 starter tab which has 2 slightly different manufacturer stamps on it and wondered if this is unusual or fairly commonplace.
Apologies for the quality of the photos, the lighting wasn't great.
There is a stamp "euh 3 42" whereas the end tab is stamped "euh 11 41". When viewed with the naked eye, the "e" in the "euh 3 42" is a bit worn or badly stamped. I'm convinced it's an "e" not a "c". In the right light and in the photo there is a slight horizontal mark which leads me to believe it is an "e".
Has anyone has come across this sort of thing before? I was thinking that the manufacturers would probably use what they had to hand when producing the items so things wouldn't necessarily always match up.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
