Nice finds, I like the navy stuff. By the way where are you located? I think I remember reading something about a shallow water diving kit on CL and I live near Grand Rapids, MI. Sounds like an interested piece.

Thanks guys! Its been really cool seeing what i find from week to week. I think the best part of it is that all of it is coming straight from the Vets estates. Most of it is named, usually there is some sort of grouping, and by being at these guys houses, you really can learn about them personally.
Hit a sale today, kind of came up at the last minute. Todays pickups, if anyone has any info to add, feel free, its always welcome.
German helmet, with intact liner
German canteen
German mess kit
Mauser bayonet and scabbard
5 nazi arm bands. This was a cool find, as they were tucked inside the mess kit, only to be found when i got home and opened it. Any info on the gold ones?
2 nazi pins, not sure what they are
unknown bag
US Canteen dated 1918, cup and cover
US gas mask bag
US Mess kit dated 1944, fork, spoon
2 theater made trench knives
2 copies of Infantry journal, addressed to 103rd Division CO, 1945
Ike jacket and pants, with 103rd Infantry division patch and 45th Division patch on sleeves
I never thought i would get my hands on any good German stuff, that i could trace back to the War, so I am very pleased.
The 'gold' ones are SA/sports related. You have done extremely well !
The helmet is an M42, and a good one, IMO, even with
a 10 to 15% decal..................!

Hit a couple of small sales today, didnt expect to find much. Ended up doing pretty good.
US Shovel dated 1944
48 Star US flag, wool, sewn stars
British haversack backpack, named to Canadian soldier
Korean war photo grouping from Army photographer. Managed to find 3 shots of General Macarthur, 2 shots of an A-bomb exploding, and best and certainly not least, an 8x10 photo of Korean War US Ace Joseph Mcconnell, with the photographer.... and its signed! I think that might have been a good score!
US Canteen and cover, blue porcelain
Great finds, if you dont mind me asking how much did the helmet cost?
Great stuff Jaybone, always fun to see what you picked up. Are all of these estate/garage sales in your area? I am always on the lookout for old military stuff but it only pops up every once in a great while.
