January 26, 1944 - A transport plane, a C-54A, was carrying home men who had served their time in China. The plane crashed after take off at Accra, Gold Coast, Africa, killing all on board including S/Sgt. Albert J. Rosini from the 341st Bomb Group, 22nd Bomb Squadron.
Also killed in this crash were:
1st Lt. John W. Shupe; 1st Lt. Neal R. McMahon; 1st Lt. Melvin P. Fox; S/Sgt. Frank E. Ullman; and S/Sgt. Robert L. Rawlings.
