I like comedies. The General with Buster Keaton is an old one, but still one of the best.

I prefer some of the obscure films that are sometimes overshadowed by some of the more well known movies,, not to say that I don't enjoy them either but some of the movies that aren't shown on Memorial Day or Veterans Day weekends...

    In no particular order...

    PT 109
    The Devils Brigade
    Go For Broke
    The Train
    Von Ryan's Express
    Hamburger Hill
    The Bunker
    Sergeant York
    Hacksaw Ridge
    Flags of our Fathers
    Letters From Iwo Jima
The Bridge on the River Kwai
    The Dam Busters
    30 Seconds Over Tokyo
    Gardens of Stone
    The Story of GI Joe
    They Were Expendable
    From Here to Eternity
    The Great Escape
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
    Glory
    12 O'clock High
    The Pianist
The Best Years of our Lives
    Winds of War series
    War and Remembrance series
    Empire of the Sun
    Escape from Sobibor
    The Great Raid
    The Big Lift
    Berlin Tunnel 21
    A Rumor of War
    Go Tell The Spartans
    Pork Chop Hill

There are many others that are so obscure that many of them have not aired in many years...

    Smitty
The Big Lift is well worth watching, filmed in the ruins of Berlin in the early 50s.

Forgot who was going on about Danger Close a few years back Gunny. Maybe Rene? Have yet to see it. One day I hope to watch it. Heard it's great

    My recommendation.... The Liberator

While technically not a movie, it is a new short series on Netflix. It's different as it is a new form of animation called Enhanced Hybrid Animation (actually it's like a modern version of Ah Ha's 1980s "Take on Me" music video...LoL).

Maybe not for everyone but I really like it so far

Here is a link about the history of the 157th Infantry Regiment

I hear they may do more. As they are short series and this was focused on one man/unit, there is a lot of other stories they can tell. Plus I heard that this animation technique is much cheaper to produce (true or not I don't know)
