That is right you are up.
Tarawa was the first battle that the USMC used the P42 full camouflage uniform if I remember correctly. I picked the photo because I read "One Square Mile of Hell, Battle for Tarawa" and they had the account of finding this kitten under a Japanese tank. Its amazing it survived the bombardments, strafings, and small arms fire that killed thousands of soldiers in 3 days.
This is a picture of an RAF station in Bedfordshire today. What is the name of the station and why was it big news during the war ?

Twinwood Farm. Was the home of night fighters. Glenn Miller also took off rom there in 1944 after which his plane vanished
The fact that the caption of the second picture says Twinwood control tower was a giveaway, go again Nick.
