Not sure where else to put this as it covers every part of WW2

Antony Beevor - Author of The Second World War

I have now read two of his books and each one astonishes me. If you really want a concise encountment of what happened then there's no better place to start.

Yes, there are other reads and books that cover all of his subjects i.e. Spain, Crete, Normandy but non too many that are this accurate.

Trust me it's worth a read.

Yes, AB is practically an institution.

I have 'Stalingrad' and 'Berlin - The Downfall 1945.'

Both a testimony to the quality of his work.

Agreed. His books 'Stalingrad' and 'Berlin: Downfall in 1945' are also powerful and sobering reads, a must have for serious historians IMO.

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Are his works written in an objective manner? I mean free from "the victor writes history" issues. Just asking

    Regards, Lars

Check out his new book 'The Second World War' it is, I think his best, my wife usually reads a book a week, three weeks and she is about a fifth in, mainly because of the backwards and forwards of cross checking maps etc. LOL.

I agree with the above comments. I have three of his books, read 'Berlin' and 'D-Day' and have 'Stalingrad' to get around to soon.

Great reading and written in a way that keeps you turning pages. He tells a story and stories within that story.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
