Default Interesting infomation i found out about Hitlers putsch trial.

    Hello,
So i was watching a few shows on tv looking around the internet about the early days or nsdap and i found out an interesting piece of info.
The judge at Hitlers 1924 trial was Georg Neithardt.
Being known in history for his easy lenient stance on the trial with Hitler being in prison for little over eight months even in todays sentences an extremely light sentence for a coup.
This is where it gets more interesting, Georg Neithardt was the judge in a small trial Hitler faced previously in the early days of the Nsdap where his brown shirts raided a left wing party confrence and assulted many members.( not sure if any got killed) Hitler faced trial for these events due to the fact he was in command of his brown shirts. ( something him and his party tried to hide once they came to power.)
The court and Mr Neithardt didnt really symothise with the left wing communist party as they and the goverment disliked the left and would not want the right to grow weak so i think in the trial gave a small fine.
Intresting to know that the same bias judge was at two trials for Hitler and even wrote to higher powers to give Hitler less punishment then he had dished. So the common phrase you hear of it being a show trial where Hitler hypnotized new followers and made a joke of the trial really does grow even stronger when you think the whole time what ever Hitler would of said in the trial,he was going to get a slap on the wrist at the end of the day.
Its amazing what small new things you learn in history everytime you look into events in more details.

    Interesting stuff Dan.

Regarding "The small trial" in which Herr Niethardt sat as judge, the prosecuting counsel, who was jewish, did not fare as well as the future Fuhrer, as can be seen here:

    The poor man.

    Regards, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'

In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.

    Hi Daniel

That’s quite a well-known fact, any study of the TR and Hitler in particular would have raised that point. He was also the same judge during the Stauffenberg Plot trials

Yes mate it probably is but it was new for me as when ever i have looked into this event, it was only Hitler making a joke and getting a nothing sentence.
As for the stauffenberg trials i had no idea he was apart of this also, looks like you have given me a few hours this weekend to learn new info and research.
I would go as far to say im supprised he didnt turn out like the most famous judge of the time Roland Freisler.

    Hi Dan

Try this link, some interesting reading

The Propagander!™ Biographical Timeline of the Infamous Adolf Hitler, Chapter 12

1922 January 29-30 The NSDAP holds its first official Party Congress, in Munich. Hitler, no doubt in reference to his January 12th conviction for criminal defamation, proclaims: "Our movement cannot be defeated by locking us up. We knew from the beginning that the leaders have to go through prison; it is in this way that our movement will become great. We go to prison as National Socialists and will come out again as National Socialists." 6
