    Default Plaque for a Vet's 100th Bday

    Hello All,
Some here know that I talk about Phil the B-17 left waist gunner on the same B-17 as my uncle Joe.
I have been in contact with Phil since late 2010, This year Phil is turning 100. I wish I could see him,but due to this COVID stuff, Phil is on lock down and is not allowed to have visitors at the veteran home he is at..

So I saw this guy on another site who does wood work plaques for the branches of the armed services,

So I asked if he could do special one for me to give to Phil for a Bday present,
This Gent agreed and we came up with this.
I sent him several images and we decided that this would fit the best.

And he worked his wood working magic and made this.

He has his neighbor paint something on the back for me.

Now Phil's Bday isn't until Sept. 9th, But since he has been on this lock down, They tell me that the funny, joking, jovial Phil isn't himself lately. He getting depressed and is Ready To Go!!!
I wanted to send something to cheer him up until I get the other gift to him for that day. They say I should think of a plan B for these , So off early for this one!!!

I told the guy I would pay for shipping next day to Phil. I told him how Phil was blown out of an exploding B-17, then broke his jaw when he slammed into the roof of a barn when he parachuted down, Then spent the duration of the war as a guest of Germany as a POW. I wanted to get this to Phil ASAP!!!

He told me it was $59 to ship it and that he would cover it. Said Phil was a Hero!!
I thought that was an awesome offer!!!

So Phil will have this tomorrow by 3 PM..

    Way to go Phil!
I am sure this will put a smile on his face when he gets it.
And, it will create some more special memories for him.
